As The Lincoln Lawyer prepares for his big return in season 2, let’s have a look at the main cast for Netflix’s hit legal drama series.

When it comes to courtroom and legal dramas, not many shows or attorneys were as popular as The Lincoln Lawyer in 2022.

With The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 set to premiere its first part on July 6, fans of Netflix’s hit series are itching to know more about the complex cases that Mickey Haller will have to work through.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is a Mexican actor who made his professional debut in 2006 when he played Jose in the short film production of Valle de Iagrimas. His first breakthrough role came in 2013 when he was cast as Uncle Pedro in Bless Me Ultima and as Gabriel in the Alguien Mas TV series.

The fan-favorite actor would then go on to portray Narciso Menendez in From Dusk till Dawn: The Series (2014) and Arturo in Cake (2014), before landing his most well-known role as Vasquez in The Magnificent Seven in 2016.

Since then, the 42-year-old has starred in Murder on the Orient Express (2017), Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018), 6 Underground (2019), Greyhound (2020), Goliath (2022), and A Man Called Otto (2023).

Interestingly, the role of Mickey Haller was originally set to go to Logan Marshall-Green, but a series of rewrites and alternative scripts ended with Garcia-Rulfo landing the role just as Netflix also came on board. You can follow him on Instagram @manu_ruflo.

Garcia-Ruflo plays the titular character in The Lincoln Lawyer, who tackles some of LA’s toughest cases from the comfort of his luxury car, the iconic Lincoln Navigator. Haller is also a recovering addict and unfortunately, as we saw over the course of season 1, his affliction continues to impact both his work and family life.

Becki Newton is an American actress who made her professional debut in 2001 and who would have minor roles in the likes of Cold Case (2003), American Dreams (2004), and Law & Order: SVU (2004), before landing arguably her most famous role to date as Amanda Tanen in the classic series Ugly Betty in 2006.

Newton would reprise the role of Amanda Tanen in the Ugly Betty spin-off Mode After Hours in 2007, with her next major performance as Anni Matopoulos in Love Bites (2016). The 44-year-old would then be cast as Quinn Garvey in How I Met Your Mother (2012), with follow-up roles in The Goodwin Games as Chloe Goodwin (2013), Weird Loners as Caryn Goldfarb (2015), Divorce as Jackie (2018), and Tell Me a Story as Katrina Thorn (2018).

Newton also comes from a family of artists and entertainers. Her brother Matt Newton is an established actor, her maternal aunt Stephanie Chase is a professional violinist, her maternal grandfather was a famed music composer and her second cousin once removed is none other than the legendary Sienna Miller.

In The Lincoln Lawyer, Newton plays Mickey Haller’s second ex-wife and now his chief legal aide, Lorna Crane. Whilst there might still be some tension between her and Haller, Lorna is now engaged to Cisco and has arguably become the backbone of the entire group as we head into the second season.

Jazz Raycole is an American actress and dancer who made her professional debut in 1995 when she voiced the Puppy in the classic movie Babe. She would land various minor roles over the first few years of her career before her first major breakthrough in 2000 when she played Claire Kyle in My Wife and Kids.

Whilst the 35-year-old has had cameo roles in the likes of The Office (2006), New Girl (2012), Bones (2013), and iZombie (2015), fans may also recognize her from her performances in Jericho as Allison Hawkins (2006), The Soul Man as Lyric Ballentine (2012), and The Quad as Sydney Fletcher (2017). In The Lincoln Lawyer, Raycole plays a former addict and client of Mickey Haller called Izzy Letts, who after proving herself to the car-based attorney would land a job as his personal driver. Whilst Letts takes a backseat in the majority of the cases Haller handles, her quick wit and ‘street-smart’ mentality have been key to several breakthroughs in his investigations.

Angus Sampson is an Australian actor and filmmaker who made his professional debut in 1998 and would rise to prominence with his domestic audience as the co-host of the kid’s music series, Recovery.

Sampson would get his first major TV role in 2003 when he played Dimi in Greeks on the Roof, with follow-up performances as Dan in Kokoda (2006), The Bull in Where the Wild Things Are (2009), Zach Hannigan in Spirited (2010), and Lindsay Morgan in 100 Bloody Acres (2012) – the latter of which earned him an AACTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

He has also featured in The Mule (2014), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), The Walking Dead (2019), Bump (2021), and Our Flag Means Death (2022).

In The Lincoln Lawyer, Sampson plays the muscle behind Haller’s legal team, the intimidating but kind-hearted Cisco. Interestingly, Cisco was never actually a character in the book series but had to be created for the Netflix show because there was a rights issue with Amazon Studios for Haller’s original right-hand man, Harry Bosch.

Lana Parrilla is an American actress who made her professional debut back in 1999 when she landed a cameo role on the Grown Ups TV series. Only two years later, she would land her first major role as Angie Ordonez in Spin City (2000) which Parrilla followed up by playing Teresa Ortiz in Boomtown (2002) – a role that earned her an Imagen Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, Parrilla will be introduced as one of Haller’s latest clients: Lisa Trammell, an esteemed local chef who is accused of murder after she “struggles to keep her beloved restaurant afloat under the threat of a predatory real estate developer with his sights set on her neighborhood.”

Yaya DaCosta is an American actress and model who, after finishing second in America’s Next Top Model in 2004, made her professional TV debut in 2005 in a cameo role in Eve. It wouldn’t be long before DaCosta landed her first major roles, starring in All My Children as Cassandra Foster in 2008 and as Nico Slater in Ugly Betty in 2009.

The 40-year-old would then go on to star as April Section in the Chicago franchise, appearing mainly in the Chicago Med series from 2015, but will crossover features in Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. That same year, DaCosta would land her most iconic role to date as singer Whitney Houston in the biographical movie Whitney.
