'They want to win trophies': Liverpool-mad pundit wowed by Arsenal's triple transfer call

Jose Enrique has praised Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal for ‘improving their team’ amid rumours that they want to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, Chelsea forward Kai Havertz and West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

The Liverpool-mad pundit has previously expressed his disappointment at his former not pushing the boat out in the transfer market, but had opposite views of Arsenal and how they ‘want to win trophies’, as he posted on Twitter.

West Ham United captain Declan Rice is seemingly the club’s number one target, whilst Kai Havertz is expected to boost the forward line and Jurrien Timber is being looked at to bring versatility and more legs to the defence.

“Arsenal want to win trophies,” said Enrique. “They will if they keep improving their team.”

Arsenal spending big

In recent years, Liverpool have won the trophies that Arsenal are now aiming to put in their cabinet under Mikel Arteta.

But with the money-crazy and all-dominant Manchester City at the top of the Premier League tree, then it’s hard to stop them in their tracks.

Arsenal clearly feel that the only way they are going to overtake Pep Guardiola’s side is by spending big on, not just their XI, but their squad because the Champions League is going to take its toll on them next season.

Will Liverpool spend big?

In comparison to his rivals, it’s pretty impressive what Jurgen Klopp has achieved on Merseyside, but during the past 12 months, he hit his biggest roadblock.

The Anfield faithful are hoping that wake-up call of missing out on the Champions League places will force Liverpool to do what Arsenal are planning to do and that’s spend big this summer.

Alexis Mac Allister is already through the doors, but as per with Liverpool fans, they don’t overly trust FSG to put the money down on the table for Klopp this summer.
