'Very good player': Arsenal tipped to sign 'quick' player Chelsea sold in 2021

Kevin Campbell has backed Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to secure the transfer of former Chelsea defender Marc Guehi at Crystal Palace.
The Arsenal legend stated that Mikel Arteta needs to ‘upgrade’ the centre-back spot and he suggested replacing Rob Holding with Marc Guehi.
The 22-year-old is enjoying a fruitful spell in the colours of Crystal Palace, after being sold by Chelsea in 2021, with Campbell labelling him a ‘very good’ and ‘quick’ player, as he told The Highbury Squad.
Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba are the main pairing at the Emirates – the latter, with 12 months left on his contract, is expected to sign a new deal.
That’s all well and good, but as fans saw during the final few months of the 2022/23 Premier League season, with Saliba out injured, the depth in quality behind is pretty poor.
That’s why Campbell wants Guehi, who is also an England international, added to the Arsenal Champions League mix for next season.
“That’s a spot that has to be upgraded anyway,” said Campbell. “We have been linked with Guehi at Palace, haven’t we?! And stuff like that.
“Very, very good player. Young. Quick. England international.”

Guehi would be a top purchase for Arsenal
First thing is first, if Arsenal secured his talents, then he could challenge every centre-back at the club. He would be a better option, from the bench, than Jakub Kiiwor and Rob Holding.
He would probably fair better than Ben White at the heart of Arsenal’s defence, whilst he would argue the case, if given the chance, that he is better than Gabriel.
Either way, with Champions League football returning and Manchester City walking all over everyone, then this is the type of quality in depth that Arsenal need to bring in if they are to get over those trophy-winning lines.
