Gov. Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has appointed Malam Nuhu Anka as his Director-General, Media and Communications following his inauguration on Monday.
An appointment letter signed by Lawal and issued in Gusau on Friday said: “I wish to convey to you my decision to appoint you as Director General, Media and Communications in my office.
“This appointment is predicted on your proven capabilities and dedication to duty, your exhibited patriotic zeal and passion for the development of our dear state.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Anka started his career in journalism profession at the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria (FRCN), Radio Nigeria Kaduna in 1987.
He was the Managing Director, Zamfara Radio and Television Services and former Press Secretary to the former Governor, Abdul’aziz Yari.
Anka was appointed as Managing Director, Zamfara Printing Press by Gov. Bello Matawalle in 2019.
He served as Secretary, Publicity Sub Committee to the defunct PDP Governorship Campaign Council in the state in the 2023 general elections.
Anka also held position of Director, Publicity Committee in the state of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, among other positions held within and outside the state
