Hajj: Radda gifts N278m to 4,634 Katsina Pilgrims

Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has donated N278 million to the State Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

Amirul Hajj of the State and former Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tasiu Musa Maigari Zango, disclosed this in Makkah on Sunday evening, during his visit to the pilgrims.

A statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Radda, quoted Maigari Zango as saying that the Katsina Chief Executive directed him to convey his Sallah greetings, while also congratulating the pilgrims on the successful completion of their Hajj exercise.

According to the State’s Amirul Hajj, the governor urged the pilgrims to pray for the end of insecurity in the State.

The former Speaker later announced the donation of 300 riyals by the Governor, which is equivalent to N60,000 each as feeding allowance to the pilgrims.

Earlier in his address, the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Sulieman Nuhu Kuki, expressed satisfaction with the ‘responsible and decent conduct’ of the pilgrims during the annual exercise.

Among the entourage of the Amirul Hajj are former Deputy Governors of the State, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari and Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Aminci. Others are the Magajin Garin Katsina, Alhaji Aminu Abdulmumin Kabir Usman, Chairman of the Board of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Badaru Bello Karofi and other Islamic clerics.
