Eintracht Frankfurt insist they have not received a single ‘concrete offer’ for Jesper Lindstrom this summer despite £30 million links with Premier League trio Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Then again, that is not to say the silky Denmark international was not, at one point or another, a genuine option for Arsenal, Newcastle or Spurs. A number of different publications, including Sport1 and Ekstra Bladet, certainly believes that he has his fair share of admirers in England.
It’s just that, with Arsenal and Newcastle opting to spend big on Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Sandro Tonali respectively – and with Ange Postecoglou landing James Maddison for a ‘bargain’ £40 million – the initial interest Jesper Lindstrom never turned into anything more, to borrow Timmo Hardung’s phrase, ‘concrete’.
“There are no concrete offers (for Lindstrom),” Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director tells Sky Germany. “No one has approached us, nor Jesper himself.”

Lindstrom, labelled an ‘outstanding footballer’ by Frankfurt team-mate Kevin Trapp after scoring a sumptuous chip against Bayer Leverkusen, ended the 2022/23 campaign with nine goals and four assists in all competitions.
He caught the eye during Frankfurt’s dramatic 3-2 Champions League defeat at Tottenham in the group-stages, too, his appreciation of space, burst of pace and thumping long-range shots putting a few more lines on the perma-scowling face of then-boss Antonio Conte.
But unlike fellow Dane Rasmus Hojlund – who was in no mood to miss out on a ‘dream’ move to Manchester United – 23-year-old Lindstrom is in no rush.
“Yes and no,” he told BuliNews recently when asked if he felt the time has come to leave the 2022 Europa League winners. “I’ve said that I enjoy playing in the Champions League and the big tournaments in general. But if (a move away) doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen.
“I love living and playing in Frankfurt. It’s a really cool place. The facilities are great, it’s a first-class city and the airport is close. My girlfriend also likes living there, which is important to me, because if she’s not happy, I’m not happy!”
“Before a transfer, I’d look at the coach, the style of play and the competition. If it’s possible to get playing time. If that’s not the case, I think it’s ridiculous to change clubs.
“I leave it to my agent. (He) is talking to the people he needs to talk to, and then we’ll see what happens.”
