Fulham are ‘pressing’ ahead with a deal for Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne as Premier League rivals Arsenal appear to cool their interest in the £13 million-rated Belgium international.
Six weeks ago, breaking his silence following Leicester City’s calamitous relegation from the top-flight, the former Genk and Atalanta full-back expressed his desire to leave the Foxes for what he described as a ‘top club’.
“The next two months will be important to make the right choices,” Timothy Castagne said. “I let my agent do his job to the moment. He is having discussions.
“There will be a choice to be made, for sure. We are trying to find a top club.”

Whether Castagne considers Fulham to be a side within that lofty bracket, however, perhaps time will tell. Even the most hard-nosed Cottagers supporter would have to accept that there is quite the gap, in terms of stature and history, between Fulham and two of Castagne’s other suitors; Arsenal and Juventus.
But the prospect of regular Premier League football at Craven Cottage in the year before Euro 2024 should still hold plenty of appeal.
Arsenal opened talks with Leicester earlier in the summer, according to Sacha Tavolieri. A potential move to the Emirates appears to have gone by the wayside, however, since Arsenal brought in Jurrien Timber from Ajax. The cultured, highly-versatile Timber shone as a centre-half in Amsterdam. But he may be utilised by Arteta in the right-back spot Castagne prefers.
TuttoJuve, meanwhile, believe that, while Juventus are currently in pole position, the troubled Serie A giants may need to first raise funds via player sales. What’s more, in a further boost to Fulham’s hopes, a move to Turin may not appeal to Castagne quite as much as it may have done after Juve were banned from European football for 2023/24.
Fulham, meanwhile, continue to push hard. Their pursuit of Castagne is, to borrow TuttoJuve’s term, ‘insistent’.
