“Sadness flies away on the wings of time” Davido consoles Wizkid following the loss of his mother

Award-winning singer, Davido has sent his condolence message to his colleague, Wizkid following the loss of his mother.

Kemi Filani reported on Friday, that Wizkid had lost his mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun.

The singer’s mother died at around 1.30 am on Friday, August 18th.

Sunday Aare, Wizkid’s longtime manager, confirmed the sad news to The Punch.

“Yes, she died this morning, at about 1.30 am”, he said.

The deceased is survived by three children; Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid), Yetunde Balogun, and Lade Balogun.

Reacting to the news, Davido stated that sadness flies away on the wings of time.

Consoling him, he revealed that he is praying for the singer, who he described as his brother.

“Praying for you my brother @wizkidayo Sadness flies away on the wings of time”.

Wizkid reacts to Davido’s son’s death

Recall that during Davido’s time of grief, after he lost his son, Wizkid had shown love to him.

Davido lost his first son, Ifeanyi, who he shares with his wife, Chioma Rowland on October 31st, days after his 3rd birthday. He was reported to have drowned in a swimming pool.

As the world mourned the death of Davido’s son, Wizkid showed a sign of concern.

The Grammy singer, who wasn’t aware of Ifeanyi’s death, took to Twitter to promote his album, but deleted the tweet, minutes after he posted it, to show solidarity with Davido”.

Davido speaks on his relationship with Wizkid, confirms their tour

During an interview with Beat 99.9FM in March, Davido spoke out about his relationship with Wizkid and also teased their tour.

He revealed that Wizkid always calls him every week to check up on him, and also confirmed their tour, which he stated is already in motion.

He further revealed that he and the Grammy singer are probably going to drop a record.
