Subsidy: Sule distributes palliatives to citizens

Governor Abdillahi Sule of Nasarawa state, Tuesday, distributed palliatives to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy among people of the state.

He said the state government had contributed N1.92bn as part of the palliative to the people of the state.

Sule explained that the actually amount was N5bn and N4bn was given to each state and out of the N4billion, the federal government was to contribute two billion and eighty million naira, while the state would contribute N1.92billion, and the remaining N1bn would not come in cash but worth of grains at N35,000 per bag would come to every state.

He said additional 3,000 bags of rice amounting to five trucks from the federal government were part of the paliatives promised to each state to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal.

Sule assured that apart from rice, other grains would also be distributed to the people of the state using existing data in their communities.
