Jayfred speaks on afrobeats’ influence on music

A singer and producer, Fredrick Ajayi, aka Jayfred, has said that his songs show the beauty, diversity and richness of afrobeats.

Speaking on his recently released debut Extended Play album titled, Give Me No Stress 1.0, the singer said, “My EP shows the beauty, diversity and richness of the afrobeats culture, as each track tells a different story.

“It contains seven tracks and they were all produced, mixed and mastered by me. The songs on the album are Why featuring Boy Maliq; ‘Memories’, ‘Carry On’, ‘Gbowo’, ‘I Will Be There’, ‘Little Star’, and ‘On God’, featuring Ramadel.

The singer, who is signed to Obafunshy Music Records, described himself as ‘beat wizard’, adding that he had been producing music since 2013. He said, “Growing in the industry was not so easy for me. Many artistes don’t appreciate one’s skills until one starts to make a name for oneself. Hence, working hard to make a name for myself was not so easy.”
