NDE trains 50 Yobe youths on various skills

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Thursday, flagged off the second phase of life skills training to 50 unemployed men and women under the Youth Transformation Training Scheme (YTTS) in vocational and technical skills in Yobe state.

Flagging off the training in Damaturu, the NDE Director General, Malam Nuhu Fikpo said the scheme is for the beneficiaries to acquire life skills training that would give them the ability to espouses a positive behaviour that will enable them deal effectively with demand and challenges of everyday life.

Represented by the acting coordinator, NDE Yobe state, Hajiya Binta Aliyu, Fikpo called on the beneficiaries to take the training serious for them to become self-reliant in the society.

In her remarks, the representative of Director Vocational NDE headquarters Abuja, Hajiya Amina Lewa Shettima, said the training was aimed at imparting skills on unemployed persons to enable them become skilled and proficient enough to earn a living.

She revealed that “the training would also make them contribute positively towards the economic growth of the society.”
