Bandits kill two in Kaduna fuel station attack

Again, some suspected bandits have reportedly attacked a fuel station at Bagoma Dam in the troubled Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing two people, with three others sustaining varying degrees of injury.

Among those killed by the bandits was a local vigilante.

It was gathered that the attack occurred at about 6:30 pm on Tuesday after the Magrib Muslim prayer period.

This is coming less than 24 hours after bandits invaded a mosque at the Sabon Layi, Kakangi ward, in the same local government area where the Imam and one other worshipper were killed on Tuesday.

A community leader, Malam Zubair Idris AbduRrauf, confirmed the incident of the Tuesday evening attack to our correspondent on the telephone.

AbduRrauf, who holds the title of Danmasanin of Birnin-Gwari, said the three people who sustained gunshot wounds were currently receiving medical attention at the Jibrin Maigwari General Hospital, Birnin-Gwari.

He added that the military and other security operatives had since cordoned off the area.

He said, “Terrorists have again attacked a filling station at Bagoma Dam, Birnin-Gwari town, killing two persons. One of those killed is a local vigilante, and the three other people are at the Jibrin Maigwari General Hospital right now.

“The military and other security personnel have cordoned off the area.

“The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. after the Magrib prayers.”
