A high court sitting in Lagos has sentenced Drambi Vandi, the officer involved in the killing of Bolanle Raheem, a lawyer, to death by hanging.
Ibironke Harrison, the trial judge, in her ruling on Monday, convicted Vandi of a one-count charge of murder.
The tragic incident occurred on December 25 when Raheem Bolanle was allegedly shot dead by Officer Vandi in the Ajah area of Lagos while returning home from a Christmas outing with her family.
This Christmas Day killing drew condemnation from diverse segments of society, including the ruling elite.
