A non-governmental organisation, Open Africa Foundation, has charged secondary school students and parents to inculcate the right values, with the firm belief that with hardwork and commitment, they can build a new Nigeria.
Speaking in Abuja weekend, during an annual conference organised for secondary school students in FCT, chairman of the foundation and a United Kingdom-based forensic expert, Tunji Aworinde, said values have so much eroded in the present day society.
He lamented that people no longer call crime by its name as youth engage in all sorts of immoralities, inhaling illicit substances and contributing to insecurity in the country.
He said if we must secure the future of the Nigerian society, there’s the urgent need to locate and raise the young students who are often referred to as leaders of tomorrow with the values and principles of effective leadership because our future lies on the shoulders of the young students in secondary and tertiary institutions.
