Ridley Scott's true feelings about Top Gun: Maverick have reportedly been revealed after producer Jerry Bruckheimer claimed he liked the sequel. Released in 1986, the original Top Gun was directed by the late Tony Scott and introduced audiences to Tom Cruise as the young hotshot pilot Pete "Maverick" Mitchell. Nearly four decades later, Cruise returned to reprise his role in Top Gun: Maverick which, directed by Joseph Kosinski, was another big box office success.
