Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has arrived in Germany, according to reports.
He landed at Hamburg International Airport, marking his reunion with his family after more than two years of incarceration in the Republic of Benin. A video of his arrival, accompanied by UK-based Nigerian Islamic cleric Saheed Shittu, surfaced on social media.
Igboho holds a resident permit in Germany, while his wife and children are German citizens. He was arrested in July 2021 in Cotonou, Benin Republic, along with his wife Ropo, after fleeing Nigeria when the Department of State Services (DSS) raided his Ibadan residence on July 1.
Igboho’s return coincides with his 51st birthday, eliciting congratulatory messages from well-wishers and supporters.
Recall that Igboho had earlier announced that he was a free man having been released from detention. He went ahead to thank some prominent Nigerians who supported and assisted him all through his ordeal, adding that he would return to Nigeria, his homeland, any time soon.
