Senate leader, lawmaker celebrate Akpabio at 61

The Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and the Senator representing Enugu North, Okey Ezea, have felicitated with the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, as he marks his 61st birthday on Saturday.

In a statement by his Directorate of Media and Public Affairs on Friday, Bamidele wished the senate president more fruitful, prosperous and rewarding years in the land of the living.

He commended Akpabio’s commitment to promoting the cause of the masses and pro-people legislations.

He said, “Akpabio is passionate about cultivating strategic partnership with all national institutions with a view to building a nation that works for all and developing an economy that flourishes.

“He is a political leader dedicated to the empowerment of the downtrodden in society. He has also contributed to the development of this nation with his uncommon achievements as the governor of Akwa Ibom (2007 – 2015) State and as the Minister of Niger Delta (2019 – 2022).

“A day like this truly calls for not only cheerful celebration of what God has made of him, but also candid reflection of God’s goodness and grace, His favour and kindness as well as of His love and mercy towards him and his family in the last 61 years.”

Ezea, in his congratulatory message  contained in a statement released by his media team in Abuja on Friday, described the 10th Senate under the leadership of Akpabio as one filled with ‘dynamism, uncommon performance and exceptional brilliance.’

He said, “His tenure as the President of the 10th Senate has been one filled with dynamism, uncommon performance and exceptional brilliance.

“We wish him a splendid birthday filled with joy and blessings. May his birthday bring him continued good health, success and the fulfillment of all his aspirations. Happy birthday, Your Excellency.”
