Police probe abduction of Sokoto bizman

The Sokoto State Police Command has said it has begun a probe of the abduction of one businessman, Mr Paul Ndubuisi, in Tambuwal Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking while confirming the abduction, the spokesman for the command, ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, said the victim was abducted by the suspected gunmen on Saturday evening after shooting into the air sporadically.

He however assured that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Kaigama, has ordered a fullscale investigation into the matter, saying the command is on top of the situation.

“The command is on top of the situation and the Commissioner of Police has ordered a fullscale investigation into the matter which will reveal the identities of the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, a source who spoke with our correspondent on the incident about the abduction said, “Mr Paul Ndubisi-Okula, an Igbo businessman, accompanying his father, was abducted by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening (27/01/202) around 8 pm in Tambuwal, Sokoto, in his shop.

“They went to abduct the father, Papa Okula, but when they could not see him, went away with his son.”

The source however appealed to the government to take the security of lives and property more seriously, saying more citizens were falling victims on a daily basis.
