A severe fuel scarcity has gripped Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, leaving many residents stranded and desperate. A visit to various filling stations by GWG.ng in the city revealed that most had locked up their premises, while a few others had increased the price of a liter to as high as ₦1,000.
In the Egbeda local government area where our correspondent visited, the NNPC station around Kukumada was the only one selling fuel, and at a relatively reasonable price of ₦580 per liter. However, the station was overwhelmed with a large crowd, making it a challenging and chaotic experience for motorists seeking to fill up their tanks.

The fuel scarcity has caused significant disruptions to daily life in Ibadan, with many residents struggling to find alternative means of transportation. GWG.ng reports that as schools reopen tomorrow, Monday for the commencement of second term academic activities in Ibadan, the hope of primary and secondary school students are left unknown as prices of transportation has drastically increased with the fuel scarcity.
