Emomotimi Agama Replaces Lamido Yuguda as SEC DG

Mr Emomotimi Agama has been appointed as the new Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The appointment of Mr Agama was approved by President Bola Tinubu, according to a notice issued on Friday.

He is to replace Mr Lamido Yuguda, who was appointed into the position by Mr Tinubu’s predecessor, Mr Muhammadu Buhari.

In the statement yesterday, it was also disclosed that the President has approved the appointment of Mr Mairiga Aliyu Katuka as the Chairman of the agency, which is the apex regulator in the Nigerian capital market.

​Further, Frana Chukwuogor was chosen as the Executive Commissioner for Legal and Enforcement, Mr Bola Ajomale is now the Executive Commissioner for Operations after he left NASD Plc, Mrs Samiya Hassan Usman is the Executive Commissioner for Corporate Services, Mr Lekan Belo is now a Non-Executive Commissioner, and Mr Kasimu Garba Kurfi is also a Non-Executive Commissioner of SEC.
