Gundogan claims Barca united despite Araujo’s criticism

Ilkay claimed that the team is united despite the drama with the defender.

Ilkay Gündogan has revealed to the media that the Catalan side is aligned in their pursuit of success ahead of El Clásico vs. Real Madrid at the end of the weekend after the fallout of his perceived criticism of Ronald Araújo after Barca’s Champions League eliminated earlier in the week.

Gündogan was mad with Araújo’s 29th-minute red card in his team’s 4-1 defeat against PSG in the 2nd leg of the ¼ final tie in Catalonia, claiming that this was the reason for Barca’s exit.

“Everything is alright,” Gundgan shared with the media. “The mood during the training that we finished just now was good. We are focused on the future.”

Barcelona’s Champions League elimination means La Liga is the only trophy that the Catalan club can win this campaign. With 7 matches remaining, they are 8 points behind 1st-placed Real Madrid, and they must win at the Bernabéu on Sunday if they want to keep their title hopes alive.
