Tinubu appoints SEC chairman, board members

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven new Securities and Exchange Commission board members.

The Presidency today, announced the appointment in a statement signed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, and titled ‘President Tinubu appoints board of Securities and Exchange Commission.’

They are Mairiga Katuka (Chairman of the Board), Emomotimi Agama as Director-General, Frana Chukwuogor as Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement), and Bola Ajomale as Executive Commissioner (Operations).

Samiya Usman is the Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services), with Lekan Belo and Kasimu Kurfi serving as Non-Executive Commissioners.

The president believes that every member of the Commission’s Board of Directors will “bring to bear their wealth of experience and competence in advancing the commission’s core mandate of developing and regulating a capital market that is dynamic, fair, transparent, and efficient, to bolster investor confidence and contribute immeasurably to the nation’s economic development.”
