American Corner Lekki, Global Mentoring Club, Scallop Digital Academy hold maiden workshop for female entrepreneurs
American Corner Lekki, in partnership with Scallop Digital Academy and Global Mentoring Club, recently held the maiden “Empower Her Business Workshop” in Lekki, Lagos.
The event was designed to empower female entrepreneurs by providing them with essential insights into technology, finance and funding strategies to advance their businesses.
The workshop began with a presentation by the founder of the School of Grant Success, Mr. Edward Esene. His presentation, titled: “Funding Options and Grants for Business” explored the various avenues for securing financial support.
He provided detailed information on how to attract grants, engage angel investors, and approach venture capital firms. His practical tips on preparing effective grant applications and understanding the investor mindset equipped participants with the foundational knowledge needed to pursue funding opportunities.
In her presentation, Founder & CEO of Scallop Digital Academy, Betty Adepoju, titled: “Leveraging AI for Business Automation Optimization”, demonstrated how artificial intelligence could revolutionise business operations by enhancing efficiency, reducing costs and improving customer engagement. She introduced participants to several AI tools and showed real-world applications, making a strong case for the integration of technology into business processes.
Founder of Global Mentoring Club, Mrs. Lara Garuba, rounded off the session with a compelling talk on “Financial Management and Cash Flow for Business.” She emphasised the critical role of sound financial management in the health and expansion of a business.
She provided actionable strategies for managing cash flow effectively and highlighted common financial pitfalls that entrepreneurs should avoid. Her interactive approach helped participants understand complex financial concepts through practical applications.
Highlights of the workshop were designated networking breaks, which were highly applauded by the participants. These breaks offered opportunities for participants to connect with fellow entrepreneurs, exchange ideas, and build potentially valuable relationships for future collaboration.
