I’m not leading contract awarding executive council, Bauchi Gov clarifies

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has declared that the State Executive Council (SEC) he is chairing is not a contract-awarding council, meaning we are assuming.

The Governor, who was speaking at the opening of the SEC meeting held at the EXCO Chambers of the Government House on Wednesday, said that the SEC is all about policy and programme formulation for implementation.

Bala Mohammed, however, charged Members of the Council to rather intensify efforts to actualize the administration’s laudable policies and programmes.

He further stressed that his administration remains committed to improving the living standards of the people through various policies and programmes.

He stressed that policies and programmes must be strengthened to further implement the many policies and programmes of the government for the continuous development of the state.

The Governor then charged them as Members of the Council to always partner with relevant stakeholders by taking full advantage of development partner interventions for sustainable growth and development of the state.

The governor also charged MDAs to always support government policies and programmes to enable his administration to succeed.

He, however, frowned at the late arrival of the SEC members at functions, saying that they must lead by example for others to emulate and feel proud of the state.

The Governor also charged the HoS to ensure that only civil service work is done at the State Secretariat in order to uphold the dignity and integrity of the service, warning that he will no longer tolerate indolences by the civil servants.
