KANO: Police arrest suspect of KEDCO staff murder case

THE Kano State Police Command has made significant progress in the investigation of the abduction and culpable homicide of Bello Bukar Adam, a staff member of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO).

The incident, which occurred on May 4th, caused shock and unease in the community.

According to a press release from the Kano State Police Command, the 45-year-old victim left his home with his Toyota Corolla and disappeared.

Later that day, a man’s body was found abandoned near Bechi Village in Kumbotso Local Government Area.

The Commissioner of Police quickly mobilized a team of detectives, leading to the arrest of a 35-year-old man named Sadiq Zubairu, who confessed to conspiring to lure the victim to his house under false pretenses and then resorting to violence when he couldn’t fulfill his promise of a job offer.

The suspect admitted to disposing of the victim’s body, stealing his car and phone, and deceitfully obtaining three million naira from him.

The motive behind the crime was financial gain.

While expressing his condolences to the victim’s family, the Police Commissioner reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Police Command to combatting crime and ensuring the safety of all residents, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
