Muslim Engineers Task Members On Professionalism
A group, The Muslim Engineers (TME), has enjoined the members to embrace Islamic business ethics, while discharging their duties as that is the key to attain paradise.
The call was made during the group’s yearly lecture in Lagos. The Guest Speaker Fadilat, Sheikh Al-Imam Abdulwaheed Jumah, while speaking on ‘Engineering: One of the keys to attain Paradise’, said to be a Muslim meant “total and unconditional submission to the will of the Almighty Allah. Without belief in Allah, Paradise is not possible,” he said.
He said consciousness and fear of Allah is the foundation to attain paradise and a Muslim must not partake in the construction of places that encourage decadence in the community.
“An engineer who wants to attain paradise should consider righteousness in line with the Quran and the Sunnah.
“ Building places of worship or clubhouses where people go and commit disobedience against the laws of Allah is not for a Muslim engineer.”
He noted that telling the truth always “is key in business and a Muslim engineer must not use sub-standard materials. “If we want change, let us be the change and command others to do good and forbid what is bad.
Chairman, Planning Committee, Ibrahim Tajudeen Kolade, appreciated the contributions of members, saying:” “I appreciate the contributions of members both in cash, kind and in spirit towards the lecture. I say, Jazakumu Llahukhayran. I also thank my committee members for their doggedness in achieving a great outing. In spite of the economic challenges of the country, we are still able to give out to the general public food stuff items for their Iftar. I equally and mostly appreciate all those who despite their busy schedules still find time and to physically attend the programme,” he said.
