SWAN Ibadan calls for govt transparency

Chief Mrs. Omokemi Oladipo, the outgoing chairperson of The Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), Ibadan Chapter, emphasized the importance of financial transparency and due process in government policies to enhance the country’s economy.

During a banquet held on Saturday to mark the end of the tenure of the 2022-2024 executive of the branch, Oladipo stressed that transparency in government would instill confidence in citizens regarding the proper utilization of public funds for their intended purposes. She highlighted that when citizens are assured of transparency, they are more likely to willingly pay taxes.

Oladipo further emphasized that transparency in government administration would foster trust among citizens, ultimately leading to an increase in tax compliance. This, she argued, would contribute significantly to the country’s economic development.

Speaking on her achievements, she noted that her administration had organised training for members in a bid to improve the skills of members.
