Instead, the real inventor of the Pop-Tart is businessman Bill Post, who wasn’t portrayed in the film. After finding out that Post was developing a breakfast pastry, Kellogg’s approached Keebler employee Bill Post and asked him to make one for them. Thus, Bill Post got to work and rapidly developed the Pop-Tart, creating the successful breakfast product that is still enjoyed today.

Although his last name may suggest otherwise, Bill Post has no connection to Post Consumer Brands, the company that is portrayed as the rival of Kellogg’s in Seinfeld’s Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story. Instead, Bill Post’s allegiance in the Pop-Tart saga was with Keebler and Kellogg’s, with him helping to create the iconic toaster strudel that outshined Post Consumer Brands’ original product.
