ABUJA: Shock As Armed Robbers Attack Gwarinpa Hotel, Kill DJ

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command has confirmed an armed robbery attack on one Volcano Peak Court Hotel in Gwarinpa’s 4th Avenue where a Disc Jockey (DJ), Bashir Dauda was shot.

The FCT police in a statement on Sunday, signed by its spokesperson, Josephine Adeh revealed that Dauda was “quickly rushed” to Federal Medical Center Jabi where he was confirmed dead.

“The corpse was released on the request of the family to be buried according to Islamic rites.

“Investigation is still ongoing in a bid to apprehend the culprits while further developments will be communicated in due course,” the police said.

Meanwhile, the incident that occurred at about 3:35 am on Saturday has led to the hotel shutting down its service to customers.

THE WHISTLER visited the hotel on Sunday and was refused entry by the security guards positioned at the gate.

Customers who strolled in or those who attempted to drive into the precinct were turned back by the guards.

The guards were also not permitted to speak to the press.

However, our correspondent sighted a damaged part of the hotel constructed with glasses. It is unsure if the shattered glasses are as a result of bullets from the robbery attack.

But the FCT Police Command called for caution among residents, asking them to report any suspicious activities and call the police immediately.

“We respond swiftly. Again the FCT Police emergencies numbers are:0803 200 3913, 0806 158 1938.”
