The pair were first seen together on a date in Miami, Florida, in early January 2022.
Recounting their initial meeting, Julia Fox told Interview Magazine that she met Kanye on New Year’s Eve in Miami, and there was an “instant connection.” She noted, “His energy is so fun to be around. He had me and my friends laughing, dancing, and smiling all night.” Their connection led them to continue the night by flying to New York City to see ‘Slave Play,’ followed by a dinner at Carbone, one of Fox’s favorite restaurants.
Julia Fox shared an anecdote from their date at Carbone, where Kanye orchestrated an impromptu photo shoot, much to the delight of other patrons. “Everyone loved the stunt and cheered us on while it was happening,” she said. The evening continued with Kanye presenting Fox with a hotel suite filled with clothes, which she described as a “real Cinderella moment.”

Reflecting on her time with Kanye, Fox told ‘Popcast’ hosts Joe Coscarelli and Jon Caramanica that Kanye’s influence was transformative. “It was actually a blessing that he came into my life because he kind of shook up my team in a way where a lot of the creative control was then given back to me,” she explained.
Fox elaborated that before meeting Kanye, she felt pressured to conform to a Hollywood starlet image that didn’t resonate with her. She often found herself conceding to her team’s vision to avoid conflict.
