Kano governor condoles with VP Shettima over mother in-law’s death

The Kano state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed heartfelt condolences to Vice President Kashim Shettima over the death of his mother in-law, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir, who passed away Sunday after a protracted illness at the age of 69.

In a statement made available to newsmen by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Monday, said, Governor Kabir described late Hajiya Abubakar as an obedient housewife who did her best in the upbringing of her family members, which included blood children, and other people that she helped in moulding their characters.

The governor said, “We were shocked on hearing about the death of Hajiya Albishir. The grief over her death spread beyond her family, Kano state and the entire nation.

“Her death occurred when she is needed most. People like her are very rare. She was a unique, friendly, respectful, family and community responsible leader whose death creates a wide vacuum difficult to fill.”

The governor on behalf of the government and good people of Kano state extends condolences to the vice president, Kashim Shattima, his wife, Hajiya Nana Shettima and the families of the deceased.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant her soul eternal rest and Jannatul Firdausi should be her final abode.
