Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 joins season 1’s episodes on Netflix in summer 2024 so that all 40 episodes will be available on the streamer.

Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2 Is Pivotal For Admiral Janeway

Janeway must find Chakotay

Star Trek: Prodigy naturally centers on the ragtag former crew of the USS Protostar led by Dal R’El (Brett Gray) and Gwyndala (Ella Purnell), but Prodigy season 2 is also pivotal for Admiral Janeway. Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 is Janeway’s last chance to rescue Captain Chakotay (Robert Beltran) from a dark alternate timeline 52 years in the future. Janeway feels immense guilt about not being able to save Chakotay this far, and the Admiral has equipped the new USS Voyager-A with every means possible to bring Chakotay home. Still, success is not guaranteed.

season 2.

As a sequel to Star Trek: Voyager, many longtime fans hope that Star Trek: Prodigy can do what the 1990s show did not and romantically pair Janeway and Chakotay, perhaps even giving them a happily ever after. While it’s unclear how much Star Trek: Prodigy, an animated series aimed at younger audiences, will delve into the adult romance between Janeway and Chakotay, their feelings for each other are undeniable, and form the crux of why Janeway must rescue her former Number One. As Kate Mulgrew says, fans streaming, watching, and posting about Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 on social media will urge Netflix to greenlight season 3, and maybe more.
