Two Killed, One Kidnapped In Abuja Community

Members of the Guidna community in Abuja Municipal Area Council(AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were thrown into mourning in the early hours of Wednesday when gunmen attacked the area, killing two and abducting one person.

Residents of the community, which is located opposite the NYSC Junction in Kubwa, told THE WHISTLER that the gunmen stormed the area around 2. am in three motorcycles.

“They entered the residence of one man which is around the area called Area 1 here,” one of the residents who gave his name as Philip stated.

He added that as the kidnappers were in the man’s house, some of them were on the lookout for anyone who would dare disrupt their operation, noting that this was how two men were shot.

“One of the men was a security guard at the area. He was patrolling the area when he heard gunshots. He saw someone on a bike and flagged him down and asked him to take him to the area where he heard the gunshot and on getting there, one of the kidnappers shot him and allowed the bike man to go,” he said.

Philip who stated that two of the kidnappers were women, said they collected the gun of the security guard after shooting him.

According to him, the other man that was shot was just opening his door to ascertain what was happening, when he was shot by one of the women.

“They were both taken to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival,” he said.

THE WHISTLER gathered that two other men who were also shot are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

The residents stated that the horrific incident has left them scared for their lives and pleaded with the Nigeria Police to come to their aid and secure the area.

“The other day, I heard that two people were also killed in Kagini. We are all scared and we hope that the police will help secure this area so that this incident will not happen again,” Nkechi Idi, one of the residents said.
