  • With fellow USA Network show
finding success with its movie revival and
getting a new prequel following its streaming success, now looks to be a great time for
    White Collar
    to return.

After a decade of talks about a potential return for the show, a White Collar revival is officially in development. Running for six seasons on the USA Network, the comedy police procedural revolved around Matt Bomer’s elusive con artist Neal Caffrey as he cuts a deal with the FBI to help them track down dangerous white-collar criminals in exchange for his early release from prison, being partnered directly with the head agent of the unit’s New York office, Tim DeKay’s Special Agent Burke. Across its run, the show saw large acclaim from critics and audiences alike for its unique premise and cases, as well as the performances of its cast.

During a recent panel at Variety‘s TV Fest, creator Jeff Eastin announced that a new White Collar show is currently in development. In addition to confirming that he is penning the script for the revival, stars Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay and Tiffany Thiessen, who were on the panel with him, all confirmed they will be returning for the project, with DeKay also noting that it will pay a loving tribute to fellow original star Willie Garson, who died in 2021. See what Eastin and DeKay shared in the quotes and video below:

Jeff Eastin:
We’re gonna reboot. I’m writing the script.

Tim DeKay:
It’s a fantastic script, and it answers all the questions that one would have if you watch the show, and it would introduce the show to those who haven’t seen it as well. Both edges of the sword are honed. It honors Willie, too, in a profound way. With such sensitivity and such heart. I told Jeff after I finished it, I literally was so excited, but at the same time, had tears in my eyes — for good reason. You captured the suspense, the thrill, the characters and the love in that reboot.

The White Collar Revival Comes At The Perfect Time

While Eastin has talked for years about a potential White Collar revival or reboot, the latest confirmation of having everyone on board and scripting well underway serves as a promising sign this effort may finally come to fruition. It also comes at the perfect time for producers to want to revive the show, particularly as many of its fellow USA Network procedurals have gone on to find new life, either as streaming successes or proper revivals and expansions of their respective properties.

The most notable of this group includes the legal drama, Suits, which dominated Netflix’s charts for months after premiering on the streamer, and now has a Los Angeles-set spinoff being filmed. Additionally, both of USA’s private detective shows, Monk and Psych, have continued in the form of movies, with Psych 4‘s script complete and awaiting funding, while Mr. Monk’s Last Case debuted to widespread acclaim and left creator Andy Breckman eager to produce a sequel.

Suits Revival: Will It Happen? Everything We Know

Despite ending in 2019 the demand for a Suits revival has never been higher – here’s everything we know about the chances of Suits season 10.

With DeKay assuring that the White Collar revival will answer “all the questions” longtime fans of the show held following its series finale, there’s also a lot for Eastin and co. to live up to. The White Collar ending memorably concluded with Neal faking his death and seemingly returning to his criminal lifestyle, all of which Burke learns a year later, though is seemingly happy with as he focuses on raising his and Elizabeth’s son, fittingly named after his friend. With the finale also having teased Bomer’s character now in Europe for more heists, it will be interesting to see if the setting shifts to there for the revival, and how Neal and Burke will be reunited.

All six seasons of
