Kripke, speaking to Amazon Prime Video in a bonus video about The Boys season 4 finale, mentioned Homelander’s rule. Creator of both the hit shows The Boys and Gen V, Kripke was dropping hints about the content of the spinoff’s second season, commenting that “Gen V will be the first glimpse into the new world that was created at the end of season 4.”

Kripke confirmed that characters in Gen V season 2 will actually encounter the Supes-first world created by Homelander before the characters in The Boys season 5. He said, of the Gen V crew consisting of the series’ mainstays Marie, Emma, and company, that “they’re actually gonna get there even before we will.” Bearing this in mind, Gen V season 2 is sure to have a bleak start for its characters.

6 Tek Knight Can’t Return In Gen V Season 2

Derek Wilson Won’t Reprise His Role As Tek Knight

Derek Wilson took up the fantastically satirical role of Tek Knight in both Gen V and The Boys, but after his death in The Boys season 4, Tek Knight will be unable to return to Gen V season 2. In what was a clear parody of DC’s Batman, Tek Knight portrayed a slightly different Supe in Gen V to the one in The Boys. Wilson will be missed, although his character may not be missed by the Boys.

Tek Knight’s mysterious and sinister nature took on an even darker turn in The Boys, which was in keeping with the series’ gloomiest outlook thus far manifesting in season 4. Tek Knight’s perverse sex dungeon helped ensure his demise in The Boys season 4, putting him in the firing line of the Boys. But his untimely death may have to be explained in Gen V season 2 as it continues exploring the fates of its many characters, particularly for those who didn’t watch The Boys season 4.

5 Cate & Sam Are Members Of Homelander’s Army Now

The Gen V Characters Are Central In The Boys’ Plot

The Boys season 4 ended with Gen V’s main antagonists joining up with the antagonists of The Boys. Kimiko and Frenchie’s long-awaited hookup in the final episode of The Boys made it even sadder when they were separated and captured by none other than Gen V’s Cate and Sam. Maddie Phillips’ cruel Cate Dunlap lured Frenchie into a vehicle with her mind control powers, while Sam took Kimiko prisoner.

Sam Riordan, played by Asa Germann, was a significant antagonist of Gen V season 1, along with Cate, and it was abundantly clear from The Boys season 4 that they will continue to follow a villain arc into season 2 of the spinoff. The ending of The Boys season 4 confirmed the duo’s place in Homelander’s army. These two will be in a position of power in Gen V season 2 now that Homelander has given them access to such military power.

Soldier Boy’s cameo in Gen V involved him as a figment of Cate’s imagination.

Cate’s dreams of Soldier Boy are exactly why his reemergence at the end of The Boys season 4 sets up Gen V season 2. Ackles was hilarious as Soldier Boy in Gen V, mocking Cate’s fantasies about him. Cate meeting her childhood hero would inevitably be a peak moment for Gen V season 2, so it’s a good thing he may return to action soon after Homelander reveals his whereabouts.

Orphaned and powerless, Zoe is a great candidate for inclusion in Gen V season 2 as she works her way back to a position of security and seeks answers or retribution.

The Supe-killing virus that became so important in The Boys season 4 actually originated in Gen V season 1 and will surely be revisited in season 2 of the spinoff. With the virus about to be unleashed in The Boys season 5, it looks like it is about to come full circle back to Gen V. The world of The Boys and Gen V will be a far more dangerous one for all Supes if Butcher manages to release the deadly virus.

With Butcher’s villain arc all but confirmed by The Boys season 4’s ending, Butcher does not look set to be taking any prisoners in the next season. His brutal murder of Vicky Neuman confirmed his willingness to go all the way in his mission to defeat Supes. Now that Butcher’s V has started to work to his benefit, his increasing power puts the characters of Gen V in a dangerous situation. A rogue, powered-up Butcher may end up killing off Gen V season 2 characters with the virus.

If Kimiko and Frenchie are indeed about to meet Gen V’s Supes, then Gen V season 2 is looking like it will show some key moments for them. Kimiko finally spoke at the end of The Boys, in a heartbreaking show of love and loyalty for Frenchie. Screaming as Frenchie was pulled away by Cate, Kimiko could be a strong focal point for Gen V season 2. Assuming she eventually escapes, Kimiko’s super-strength would be a good match for Gen V‘s super-powered batch of characters.
