Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Thursday closed southward, declining by N118 billion as the bears continue to dominate the market.
Market capitalisation of listed equities declined by 0.21 per cent to N56.712 trillion from N56.830 trillion reported the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also depreciated by 208.21 basis points to 100156.96 points from 100365.17 points recorded the previous day.
The poor performance of the market was driven by declined in the stocks of Dangote Sugar, FBNHoldings, GTCO Plc,United Bank for Africa, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Zenith Bank and other 19 companies.
As a result year to date return went down to 33.95 per cent as NGX printed 12 gainers against 25 losers.

Custodian Insurance led gainers table with 8.51 per cent to close at N10.20 per unit, Livestock Feeds followed with a gain of 3.91 per cent to N2.39 per share, Wapic Insurance added 3.90 per cent to close at N0.80 per unit. Oando Plc gained 3.06 per cent to close at N18.50 per share, United Capital gained 2.70 per cent to close at N38.00.
