Leicester lose appeal vs. EPL PSR charge

The Foxes lost the appeal against the Premier League.

Leicester’s appeal versus the EPL’s Profit and Sustainability charge has been rejected by an independent board.

The board has decided that the Premier League can punish Leicester for an alleged breach for the 3 campaigns leading up to 2022-23 after they were charged during the spring earlier this year.

The Foxes appealed vs. the charge as they were in the EFL at the time they were charged and felt the EPL had no jurisdiction, having been relegated last year, but the board has ruled that the Premier League can continue with its charges.

The newly-promoted side will appeal vs. the latest ruling.

The Foxes announced today: “Our team understands the publication today of the decision of the EPL Commission. We are disappointed with the decision, which does not appear to reflect the wording of the EPL’s Rules, and because of that, we will appeal again.”

The EPL shared the appeal has been received.
