Northern governors pay tribute to Sheikh Bauchi @100 

Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Gombe state governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has felicitated with renowned Islamic cleric and spiritual leader of Tijjaniyya, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, on the occasion of his 100th birthday anniversary.

A statement Tuesday by director-general, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe,  Ismaila Uba Misilli, said Governor Yahaya described Sheikh Bauchi as a towering figure in the Islamic world, known for his profound knowledge of the Holy Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, as well as understanding of the deeper spiritual aspects of Sufism and esoterics which distinguished him as a spiritual guide.

The governor said: “Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s teachings have transcended generations, enriching the lives of countless individuals through his deep and insightful exegesis of sacred Qur’an. Throughout his life, he has remained a pillar and moral compass in our society.” 

 The NSGF chairman commended the Tijjaniyya leader for his relentless commitment to nurturing moral and spiritual values, which he said have been instrumental in shaping the character and faith of his followers and offspring, as well as his immense role in fostering unity, peace, and religious tolerance. 

 He said: “Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi’s centenary is not just a celebration of his life but a reaffirmation of the timeless values he embodies and the legacy built on the principles of integrity, humility, and piety.”
