Parts Of Abuja Thrown Into Darkness As TCN Begins Maintenance On Apo-Karu Transmission Line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned maintenance on the capacitive voltage transformer along the 132kV Apo-Karu transmission line today, Monday, July 29, 2024.

This maintenance operation is scheduled to last for five hours and will result in a temporary power interruption affecting several areas.

According to the TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, during the maintenance period, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (Abuja DisCo) will be unable to offtake bulk power supply from the Karu, Akwanga, and Keffi 132kV Transmission Substations.

This means that residents and businesses in these areas will experience power outages throughout the maintenance window.

The TCN emphasized the necessity of this maintenance, citing the need for optimal performance of its network in the affected axis.

The company urged residents and businesses in the affected areas to make necessary preparations to mitigate the impact of the power outage.

The TCN also assured the public that all efforts will be made to complete the maintenance within the stipulated time and restore power as quickly as possible.
