President Tinubu Holds FEC Meeting
President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, presided over the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.
Vice President Kashim Shettima; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu; and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, are attending the meeting.
Also present are almost all the ministers and other members of the Council.
It is expected that discussions on the proposed nationwide protest by some groups would form part of the major highlights of the meeting.
Meanwhile, it would be recalled that during the last FEC meeting, the council directed the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, to propose additional measures for the 2024 budget to address the financial gaps that will arise from the implementation of the new minimum wage once it is finalised.
Also, during last week’s meeting, the federal government directed the distribution of 740 trucks of bags of rice across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
