The Nasarawa state governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has secured the Nigeria excellence awards in Public Service, NEAPS for Rural Development for the year 2023.
Governor Sule received the award presented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at an elaborate ceremony held in Aso Villa Abuja on Saturday.
A statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, and made available to newsmen in Lafia said Governor Sule was a recipient of the award for agricultural development in 2022.
He explained that the awards was organised in conjunction with the office of the secretary to the government of the federation was to “celebrate and reward individuals who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to public service within the preceding year.
It also seeks to “Honour those who have demonstrated innovative approaches to addressing public challenges at the grassroots level.”
The statement added that modalities for selection for the award include eligibility for nomination and seven criteria for recognition.
