Ulonna died from fibroid surgery – Family of Wigwe university registrar breaks silence

The family of Wigwe University registrar, Ulonna Inyama, has disclosed that she died from the complications of fibroid surgery.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) earlier reported that Ulonna died tragically on Saturday at an undisclosed Abuja Hospital.

However, a family sources revealed that Inyama’s death was as a result of complications from fibroid surgery and an erroneous blood transfusion.

Inyama was said to be admitted to a hospital in Abuja for fibroid treatment, where she received the wrong blood type, leading to a fatal reaction.

“She died of loss of blood due to fibroid complications under mysterious circumstances. We were told that a wrong blood transfusion led to her death,” the family source disclosed.

Following the complications, Ulonna’s condition worsened and she was immediately referred to another hospital, where she passed away.

The deceased’s family has demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to her death.

According to the details on Wigwe University portal, Inyama was chief personnel officer and head of strategic communications/special duties in the office of the executive secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC) before With over two decades in NUC, Inyama honed her skills in university regulation and administration in other directorates of the commission, including the directorates of quality assurance and academic planning.

She also served in several projects, varied policy and strategic committees, working groups and communities of practice within the Nigerian university system.

A bilingual administrator, Inyama holds a first-class honours degree in French and a master’s degree in international development from the University of Birmingham, specialising in governance, conflict, and social reconstruction.
