Anti- EndBadGovernance protesters attack 3 journalists in Delta 

Anti-EndbadGovernance protesters Thursday attacked three journalists, Monday Osayande, correspondent of Guardian, Prince Amour Udemude and Punch reporter, Matthew Ochei, while covering the peaceful protest.

The attackers were allegedly hired by thugs who were mobilised to disrupt the peaceful protest.

It was learnt that the thugs were allegedly paid to deal with anybody who come out for peaceful protest, including journalists.

The protest was earlier peaceful around 10 am, until the anti-protesters arrived at about 11:20 and started chasing the protesters away amidst security agencies.

“Our phones were smashed while insisting that we must delete the photos and records before the attack will stop.

“The policemen on ground folded their hands and were watching them attacking us unchallenged when the pointer reporter, Mrs Lucy, who sneaked out after she was slapped immediately rushed to the military officers for intervention.

“It took the efforts of the military personnel to rescue the journalists and recovered our phones. But Mr Udemude’s phone could not be recovered,” one of the journalists attacked said.

It was gathered that after the attack of the journalists, the police drew teargas to disperse the protesters around 12:20 pm at the popular Interbua roundabout, as the protesters scampered for safety.
