Chess Master, Onakoya Partners with NAFOM, Borno state govt, AHSF to organise 3-day training and sensitization campaing in Maiduguri
Nigerian Guinness World Records for the longest marathon chess game, Tunde Onakoya joined forces with Nigeria Airforce Officers Mess (NAFOM) chess club, Borno state government and Albarka Health Spring Foundation to organise Maiduguri Chess training and sensitization campaing.
According to Onakoya, in Video shared to TheNewsGuru.com he said the event is slated for August 29th to 31st, 2024.
He noted that the event is specifically design for out of school’s children and those residing in IDP camps.
In his words, “I am thrilled to announce to you that I will be joining forces with Nigeria Airforce Officers Mess (NAFOM), in Maiduguri, alongside Borno state government and Albarka Health Spring Foundation, under the exceptional leadership of Dr Anthony Dauda, president of the NAF Chess club from August 29th to 31st, we will be hosting a 3-day transtimitive sensitization program.
“This event is specifically design four out of schools children and those residing in IDP camps.
” Our mission is to use the power of chess inspire and equip these young ones in strategic thinking, discipline and confidence they want for themselves.
“I really look forward to be part of this important initiative and I hope I hope to see the incredible children participate and benefit from this opportunity. Thank you so much and let’s make the difference together,” he said.
Onakoya made Nigeria proud following his challenge with 10 players simultaneously in Germany where he won all.
During a conference in Germany, the chess master participated in a competitive event where he faced off against ten opponents simultaneously.
