Edo guber: PDP challenges APC candidate to debate

The campaign council of the Edo state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the September 21 governorship election has said party won’t relinquish power to individuals without capacity.

This was just as the campaign council also challenged Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate to debate.

Spokesman for the council, Rev. Olu Martins, who stated this Monday in Benin City, said the PDP candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo was eagerly looking forward to such engagement.

Martins flayed the APC candidate over comments that he did not need manifesto to contest and make pledges to the people.

He said: “Whatever that is not written does not exist. As far as I am concerned, the only two candidates for this election are Asue Ighodalo and others.”

He urged residents to reject the APC candidate for allegedly lacking the capacity to lead and vote for Dr. Ighodalo, adding that he would fulfill his campaign promises.
