EndBadGovernance : Two groups shun CSOs bread in Ibadan, hold protests
Contrary to the stand of Coalition of Civil Societies Organizations in Oyo state declaring Saturday and Sunday as free days, two groups of protesters on Saturday stormed the street in continuation of the nationwide #EndBadGovernance rally.
Members of the groups were sighted gathering at challenge axis in Ibadan while the other group staged their protest at Rose Wale filling station at Iwo road Ibadan.
The protesters were sighted chanting songs and condemning the policies of the President Bola Tinubu led federal government as well as the hardships and hunger in the country.
Some of their placards reads, ” We say No to Bad Governance in Nigeria”, “Enough of Hardships in the land”, ” Fuel Subsidy removal is killing us in Nigeria “, ” We need human face Policies”, ” Let the Poor breathe among others.”
While the protesters at challenge numbering about 50 matched around Challenge and headed towards Dugbe – Mokola. T
Reacting, Oyo state Police command stated that its men are fully on ground in and across the nooks and crannies of the 33 local government areas of the state.
The state Police command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Adewale Osifeso, said the command is fully ready for any eventualities in and across the state.
SP Osifeso pointed out that men of the Oyo state Police command are out in vehicular patrol of Policemen across all the commands in the state.
The PPRO however assured the people of the state of adequate security of their lives and property and that residents in the state should continue to be law abiding.
