Foundation trains 33 BH women on cosmetology in Borno
Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development (ALFOPED), a nongovernmental organisation known for humanitarian activities in women, girls, children, survivors and victims of conflicts and peace- building weekend trained and graduated 33 women detainees at the Joint Investigation Center (JIC).
The foundation in collaboration with JIC, Giwa Barracks, Maiduguri, organised Skills Acquisition Training on Cosmetology for making of liquid soap, bar soap, air freshener, mentholated balm and disinfectants (Izal and Bleach) to the women detainees in the JIC, Giwa Barracks, from Thursday -Saturday, 22nd-24th August 2024.
The executive director, Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin, said the three-day workshop has come from, learning, livelihood and happiness is what takes our day. Life is not worth living unless you are able to make a difference in the life of the other person.
“Therefore, we appreciate the military leadership for approving this opportunity for us, and then be commandant here for opening up the gate so that we can impart this knowledge to this people , which we believe will be life- changing.
“So, is there any plan for sustainability? Oh, yes. In fact, these are marketable resources. Even the military, without this, they grew by it, and now that the computer is in place, where you are able to make it is an opportunity. So therefore, whatever savings that they have done that they are going to go out to use, they can buy the raw materials, so that we have left all the equipments, and then the others.
