A Kano tailor simply identified as Ahmed on Monday was arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS) over the possession and mass production of Russian flags in the Northern part of the country.
Security Analyst and Counter Insurgency Expert disclosed this in a post via X on Monday, where he revealed that seven Russian flags were found on Ahmed.
Recall, videos of some #EndBadGovernance protesters flying the Russian flag and calling on the Russian government to come and intervene in the economic crisis and hardship bedevilling the country surfaced on social media.
The tailor’s arrest comes days after the videos went viral.
On Sunday, August 4, President Tinubu had a nationwide broadcast in which he cautioned protesters against being used to advance an agenda that could potentially undermine democratic progress.
“Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation. The economy is recovering. Please, don’t shut out its oxygen. Now that we have been enjoying democratic governance for 25 years, do not let the enemies of democracy use you to promote an unconstitutional agenda that will set us back on our democratic journey. Forward ever, backward never!” He said
