NVMA, Farm Alert partner, disburse N20m to young veterinarians

The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) in collaboration with Farm alert Limited has empowered young veterinarians through her Vetpreneurship Program.

The NVMA is disbursing N20 million in cash and products to promote entrepreneurship among young Veterinarians across the country.

The initiative is part of the NVMA’s broader efforts to combat unemployment, create job opportunities for the teeming younger population and stimulate economic growth in the nation.

During the grant ceremony which took place in Abuja on Monday, NVMA President Dr. Moses Arokoyo explained that the Vetpreneurship Program aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the sector.

According to him, this will positively impact food security and help empower the younger generation, reducing unemployment and poverty rates estimated at 38.9% in 2023.

Arokoyo, while appreciating the CEO of Farm alert, Dr Femi Kayode for the collaboration, congratulated the awardees for their dedication, commitment, and passion for animal health, which was expressed through their pitches.

He stressed that the selection process was fair, ensuring that only the most deserving candidates were chosen from a pool of excellent Veterinarians assuring them of comprehensive training and mentorship from experienced Veterinary professionals.

The financial support provided through this program is expected to address critical needs in the veterinary sector, including the procurement of essential supplies and infrastructural development.
