The new permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs (FMSDIGA), Dr. Maryam Keshinro, Monday called on the staff of the ministry to redouble their efforts to actualise the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dr Maryam made the call when the outgoing permanent secretary, Ibiene Roberts, handed the baton of leadership to her in a handing over ceremony in Abuja.

โ€˜โ€˜Today is not a speech making event. It is a call to duty. Therefore, I implore the support and cooperation of the management and staff of the ministry to deliver on the vision and mandate of the ministry as it relates to the 8-point agenda of Mr. President in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.โ€™โ€™

To the outgoing permanent secretary, she said: โ€˜โ€˜I am not here to reinvent the wheel but to build on the legacy of the good work you have done in this ministryโ€™โ€™ adding that, โ€˜โ€˜We shall collectively continue with the implementation of the FCSSIP25, an innovative programme initiated by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation (OHCSF) for the transformation of the Nigerian Civil Service through capacity building, sustenance and creation of enabling environment to promote competitiveness, innovation, and performance-based system, as well as robust reward system.โ€™โ€™

Keshinro further urged the staff to be guided by the Public Service Rules (PSR) and extant circulars in their conduct and operation.
Also speaking, the former permanent secretary said she was confronted by a lot of challenges when she assumed duty two years ago, but through dent of hard work and support from staff, she was able to surmount them.

She enumerated several achievements undertaken by the ministry, chief amongst them being the ministryโ€™s capacity to execute projects rather than certification only as was the practice in the past.
The highlight of the occasion was the handing over notes from the outgoing permanent secretary to the new one.
